Named after the song by the band Culture Club released in 1983, and the meaning of the song is "about the terrible fear of alienation that people have, the fear of standing up for one thing. It's about trying to suck up to everybody." So there you go...

Chameleons have 360 degree vision as their eyes move independently around their sockets, and (so I have just found out!) DO NOT change colour to match their surroundings. The colour change is an emotional response i.e. fear, anger, or changes in environmental conditions. Adult males are combinations of red, green, blue, and yellow. Young and female ones are tan brown with bits of pink or orange.

This time I poured the clear glaze on, instead of the usual brushing, so you can see white marks where the glaze has gathered

Also, the base cracked...

Box Turtle           Sheldon

Name as you can imagine has been taken from 'The Big bang theory' ....intelligence levels on a par I think! This is the first turtle by ceramic artist Geoff Paris, and practised with the colours beforehand. I scratched the shell to give it a 'worn' look but on the first glazing, some parts of the glaze were deliberately missing to give the shell a faded look, but felt that it needed to be redone, so re-glazed it. I then realised that turtles have more or less a black line on their shell from front to back, so you learn anatomy as you go along!
