I took Pottery ‘O’ level at school and have always wanted to continue pottery but never had the opportunity, having enjoyed a successful career as a hotel manager in the West Country.
In September 2017 Torquay Pottery classes started at ‘The Shed’ in Chelston, Torquay, which I joined, attending one afternoon per week. This is hosted by Ben Benjamin who has helped me along the way. I soon relished the hand-building side of ceramics, initially making marine and animal life, with my latest project being a series of wall hung animal heads.
Following my career in Hotel Management in the South West I now call myself a Ceramic Artist under the name of Geoff Paris Pottery. Items made include Octopus’s, Geckos, Chameleon, Crabs, Owl, Turtle, Coral Reefs, Vases, Landscapes and more to follow!
My latest thrilling venture is the publication of my hotel & catering memoirs, about starting off in the hopsitality industry and all that goes on in hotels, both with staff and customers...resulting in a fabulous book called More Sauce Madam? ISBN: 978-1-86151-975-7 Available from Mereo Books/Amazon/Kindle etc
